Starts at 8:30 am at Bonefish Grill‘s parking lot (4800 Whitesburg Dr. S.), 4.5 miles to Honest Coffee(SW corner of Clinton and Washington with lunch in Washington Park (sometimes to Gold Sprint Coffee or other agreed upon location for an extra couple miles each way) 4.5 miles back. Third Sunday of the month is pancake breakfast on Lincoln Street ($10 cash). Post breakfast Monte Sano option for a total of 24 miles. This is a very good introductory social ride just to meet people. All skill levels welcome.
Cathedral Caverns State Park

Join us the Second weekend of April for two days of cycling and fun at Cathedral Caverns State Park. We will have both short and long rides on Saturday and Sunday. Check the SCCC website for ride details.
Tent camping is free for current SCCC members on both Friday and Saturday nights. Non-members can join in at $10 per person.
SCCC has 4 campsites reserved with 6 occupants allowed per site. Reservation is required, so reserve your place before April 17th at the club website.
The Park allows 2 cars per campsite, so carpooling is encouraged.
If you prefer to bring an RV or camper, you will need to contact the State Park (Campsite Reservations | Cathedral Caverns State Park (https://www.alapark.com/parks/cathedral-caverns-state-park/camping) and make reservations at your own expense.
If camping is not your thing, three new Cabins at the Caverns are available for rental for $170/per night for a minimum two-night stay. Each cabin sleeps six and feature AC/Heat, kitchen, screened-in porch, full-sized bath, TV etc. Book reservations at https://www.alapark.com/parks/cathedral-caverns-state-park/cabins-caverns.
If you’d like to skip camping and come for the day/go riding that’s fine too.

Join Don for a Saturday morning ride on the Redstone Arsenal. Pace based on interest of participants. No rider left behind.

Hayes Chapel Baptist Church
Title: Teal Hollow with Fish Hatchery

Start Location: Hayes Chapel Baptist Church, 199 St Clair Rd, New Market, AL 35761

Description: Start Hayes Chapel Baptist Church with first rest stop at Crossroads Market 10.8 miles. There is a fun descent into Teal Hollow at 11.1 miles. There are a couple of short but moderate hills from miles 15 to 17. Enjoy a steep descent down Bear Wallow at 20.7 miles, but watch for potholes, and then climb Fish Hatchery Road into Flintville. Final rest stop is at Flintville Mini Mart 26.7 miles, followed by a few more rollers back to New Market. Plan to regroup after climbs.

Expectations: Please make sure you are familiar with the route. Bring a cue sheet and/or navigational device and have the phone numbers of the Ride Leader and the phone number of at least one friend. Be aware that cell phone service can be spotty. Text message may be the best way to communicate during the ride.
Expected end of ride speed is 14-15 mph but faster on flats and slower on climbs. Generally, riders are expected to stay together and watch out for each other. Be confident you can do the stated speed and distance.
