MaySaturday, May 3Mini Coldwater Ride – 10:00am Sparkman Middle. Pace around 14 or so for 42 miles. Maps provided. If weather is in question, call 655-6385. The route is over Bankhead and down Monte Sano to Old Big Cove. We'll ride to New Hope and back Old 431 to Sutton and through Hampton Cove to Caldwell Lane to avoid traffic on Sutton and 431. The route will go back to Old Big Cove and go to Cecil and back into town. We're going to travel through neighborhoods to get back downtown and Bicycles Etc. It's about 58 miles. We'll stop a couple of times to rest and refresh.. Anybody riding should be able to climb those hills, however the leader will wait for everybody to get to the top. Pace on the flats will be 17 to 19 average. We'll have two rest stops. It’s a good warm up for the Tour de Cure Four Hills Feast. Dodging Road Apples on the Tunnel of Trees Trail22 miles. 1pm. Piney Creek trail head (430 yards east of County 127 on Piney Chapel in Limestone county. The parking lot is on the NE corner of Delaney Rd and Piney Chapel Rd). This is a rail trail with hard packed crushed gravel. OK for road bikes or mountain bikes. No rider left behind.
