Recurring rides do not have Ride Leaders, only a Point of Contact. Points of contact do not provide maps, provide mechanical assistance, sweep the course, and may not necessarily attend the ride. If you are new to a standing ride, please alert others in the group. Be courteous to new riders who may not know the course, calling turns well in advance or pointing out road hazards. As with any Spring City Cycling Club ride, helmets are required. If anyone has any question about a recurring ride they may contact the POC, or the Club Rides Captain.

General Guidelines

  • Always wear your helmet.
  • Know your limits.
  • Show up prepared; have your spares, tools, etc. that you will need. Don't expect someone else to have them.
  • Make every attempt possible to arrive at the ride on time ready to ride. Start time means rolling out time, not arrival time.
  • Try not to run stop signs and red lights, but if you do, be considerate of those who didn't and wait up for them.
  • If the weather is questionable at the start time, call the ride leader to confirm. During the colder months, ride leaders are not obligated to host the ride if the temperature is below 40 degrees at start time. Riders that want to go ahead with the ride are welcome to do so. If you are not sure if there will be a ride, call the ride leader to verify.
  • If the ride stops for a rest break, try to be ready to go when the others are.
  • After work rides do NOT have a ride leader. They have only point of contact (POC). POC's provide information but will not necessarily be at the rides, nor provide maps, nor are they responsible for the other riders.

For more detailed guidelines, please read Guidelines for Club Rides. Also see Road Cycling Etiquette/Safety guidelines.
