25th ANNUAL FALL TOUR TO TIM’S FORD
THIS EVENT IS FULL. NO ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS CAN BE HANDLED AT THE CAMPGROUND.
The SCCC 25th Annual Fall Tour to Tim’s Ford will be held Saturday-Sunday, September 30 – October 1 2016. We will ride 40 miles from Sharon Johnston Park through beautiful Falls Mill, where we will have a picnic lunch (bring bag lunch), then ride on to Tim’s Ford State Park in southern Tennessee. We’ll camp out that night in the state park and return the next morning on a very hilly (but beautiful) 49 mile route via historic Lynchburg and Fish Hatchery Road. The state park is well stocked with a 3 mile paved bike trail through the woods along the lake, picnic pavilions, excellent showering facilities with plenty of hot water, and an ice cream shop! A gear wagon will be provided to bring up camping and cooking gear, and our lunches during the day. We usually have a nice turnout of riders at every pace, although I will be going 14-15 mph. Non-riders are also welcome, or if you want to do a shorter route, call me and we can arrange something. Join us for a beautiful ride and weekend!
MEETING TIME: 9:00 A.M. Sat. September 30 - Leave by 9:30. Can expect to be back Sunday ~ 3 PM.
LOCATION: Sharon Johnston County Park. From Moore’s Mill Rd and Winchester, go 9.7 miles East on Winchester and take left onto Coleman Road just before near New Market. Go 1 mile, take second left (1st park entrance), go another 0.3 mile and park in lot. Parking overnight is permitted. Camping will be at Tim’s Ford State Park. If you plan on driving, we’ll be at the camping area (hopefully with a section staked out).

49 miles back via Lynchburg https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17561595. Shortcuts are available. Detailed maps provided, but route is not marked, so please bring a loaded GPS or map holder. Route has some big, but not huge, climbs.
MEALS:
Lunch Saturday – bring a sack lunch, and our sag driver will deliver it to our Fall’s Mill lunch stop.
Dinner Saturday, Breakfast Sunday – everyone on their own, but if you don’t have a stove there’s plenty to go around.
Lunch Sunday – bring fixin’s to make a sack lunch to be delivered by our sag driver at our lunch stop at the Fish Hatchery.
COST: Camping fees paid for by SCCC. $3.00 for tour of Falls Mill if desired.

WHAT TO BRING:
1) Tent, Sleeping Bag, flashlight, Camping chair, other camping gear. If you don't have a tent, contact me and I can probably connect you with someone who has an extra one or will share.
