Title: Mini Coldwater Rides (2 Groups, 1 Route)
Distance: 45 Miles
Start Location: Sparkman Middle School, 2697 Carters Gin Rd, Toney, AL
Date & Time: Saturday, 13 July @ 7:00 AM
Ride Leaders: Howard Jones, howard.jones65@gmail.com, 256 658-8125 & Hunter Chockley, chockleyj@bellsouth.net, 256 527-8643

Description: Looks like there is going to be a break from rain on Saturday AM. Therefore, we are planning to do moderate rides with 2 groups. Each group will do 45 miles but at a different pace. Howard will lead the faster group with a planned overall average pace of 16-17 mph. Hunter will lead the slower group with a planned overall average pace of 15-16 mph.

The route heads North and goes into Tennessee at mile 11. Then it loops around the state with an Old Railroad Bed Rd climb of approximately 4 miles with small incline. After the climb the route returns to the start location. The route has a cumulative climb of 1075 ft.

We will watch the weather and will make a weather call if needed.

The link to the cue sheet & map is: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17888113.
This route link is posted on the SCCC RWGPS Club Account.

Everyone is expected to ride together in each group. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the designated leader or deviate from the route, then you are on your own.

Bring a cue sheet and/or a navigational device to the ride and also have the phone number of the Ride Leaders and the phone number of at least one friend.
Again, these are moderate rides with a few rollers, and one 4 mi incline with a small grade, but make sure you can do the stated pace and distance.
