Title: Bugtussle Boogie Ride w/ Delina Loop
Distance: 56 Miles
Start Location: First Baptist Church of Taft, 1377 Ardmore Hwy Taft, TN
Date and Start Time: Saturday, 6 Jul @ 7:30 AM
Ride Leader: Howard Jones, howard.jones65@gmail.com, 256 658-8125
Description: This route is a moderate ride of 56 miles. The first segment is a BEAUTIFUL ride that goes through farmlands, lots of wooded areas and has lots of rolling hills on back roads. Some roads are rough and some descents are relatively fast with curves. Caution is key word!! The first segment goes the first Rest Stop at Delina Market. After the 1st RS the route does a 10-mile loop back to the Delina Market for an optional Rest Stop. The route returns
on part of the first segment and then goes to Highway 247 for the return. The average overall pace will be 15-16 mph and it has lots of rollers and a cumulative climb of ~2250 ft.
NOTE: At ~Mile 52 there is a 4 mile climb back to Taft (not steep just long).

There are 2 Rest Stops at the POPULAR Rustic Delina Crossroads Market (“Somewhere in the Middle of No Where”). The first is before the loop @ ~mile 21 and the second is at ~31 miles after the loop.

The link for cue sheet and map is: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27979817. This route is listed on the SCCC RWGPS Club Account.

Saturday looks to be a good day for cycling.

Bring a cue sheet and/or a navigational device. Also, have the phone number of the Ride Leader and the phone number of at least one friend.

Again, this is a moderate ride with plenty rollers/hills so be sure you can do the stated average pace for the stated miles. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the stated pace or deviate from the route, then you are on your own.
