Description: This is a moderate JULY 4 CELEBRATION Ride and the riders are expected to ride in a group. The route has lots of rollers/hills plus a major climb up Butler Mill. The climb is approximately 1 mile and we will re-group at the top. Then we will turn left on Anderson Rd (out & back). After Anderson we will ride on top of Grant followed by a descent of Cottonville. We will have a quick stop at the bottom of the mountain to view the scenic area called Natural Bridge followed by an approximate 1-mile on the shoulder of Hwy 431 for a Rest Stop. We will then go to Guntersville Dam picnic area on the return. The cumulative elevation climb for the route is ~1784 ft and the expected overall average pace is 15-16 mph.

Rest Stops at ~23 miles (Filling Station), Dam’s Picnic Area

Rain is in the forecast for Thursday so we will monitor the weather.

Bring a cue sheet and/or a map and also have the phone number of the Ride Leaders and at least one friend. Again, this ride has a major climb along with a large number of rollers/hills so be sure you can do the distance at the stated average pace.

If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the Ride Leader or deviate from the route, then you are on your own
